Amman BRT Sweileh Terminal

In line with Greater Amman Municipality's vision of a rapid transportation network for the city, Amman Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project aims to provide a flexible and fully-integrated public transportation system that provides rapid, safe, and highly reliable service. The concept revolves around large-capacity buses that operate on dedicated tracks to provide a high level of serviceability. The buses travel at short intervals to and from modern fully-integrated terminals.

Sweileh terminal is a five-floor 20,000 square meter building which includes an under passing entrance (tunnel) and an over passing exit connecting to the surrounding streets.

The design of Amman BRT's Sweileh Terminal is a classic example of urban infill design. The building sits in harmony with the context, respecting the scale, massing and nature of the surrounding urban fabric.

Intended as both a bus terminal and as a center for Amman BRT operation management, the modern concrete building with its round shape and contemporary indoor open spaces is a simple and attractive new addition to the central commercial part of Sweileh.
